Development Update – Cycle 2 – March 2022
Hello all & welcome to the March 2022 development update! I hope you are doing all well this fine last month and I hope you have an amazing month coming up. This development log is going to be on the short side this time around as there wasn’t too much I worked on. Sadly had some personal issues that kind of had to take priority. Now, it goes without saying that we are only human and things don’t always tend to go our own way and those things can be either in/out of our control. Don’t worry, I will be going through these in more detail in the Development Update stream at the start of May.
This month, I mainly focused on Galaxsi Bot UI and getting it pulled over from the original service that I have created. As of right now, I don’t have much to go on that, I have finished pulling over and updating the OBS Browser Windows that I use on my stream such as my top console and music box. Not only that but I did work on some updates that would benefit me going forward and I have even more ideas for new pages I worked on this month.
Galaxsi Bot UI
The following changes were made to the Galaxsi Bot UI:
- I have now created a new angular service that spawns a Twitch Bot. This utilises the node package tmi.js which is what I use for my Twitch Bot on my service.
- I also added a Duel Service which I plan to further develop in the future when I work on more of the Dueling related content.
- Added a user service which grabs a list of users from Galaxsi API and their token value.
- Created the Top Controller in Angular which I plan to further on this in the future with integrating light controls & quick commands that don’t require my stream deck. Currently, it can:
- Spawn a Deck
- Spawn a deck with a Ghost Rare.
-
The sound player has been added which sits in my OBS which plays noises that the chat can spawn. Using various of commands, the twitch chat can make sounds play on stream.
- I also have added 2 new sounds: !thatsgame which is one of our community members saying “That’s Game” based off the Yu-Gi-Oh GX! Catchphrase & !freddy which is the laugh from popular indie horror game “Five Nights at Freddy’s”
- In addition, I have the ability to disable sound effects with the top button and adjust the volume.
- As well, as sounds come in, when they are on cooldown, they will disable so I know that they have already been used.
- Added the ability to have a user list which I can sort both alphabetically and by total number of tokens.
- Schedule Maker in terms of functionality is finished, I might spend some time to polish up the cards at some point in the near future but I think it looks okay!
- I now utilize “ng build” and run the client on my IIS (A tool on Windows) which connects to the production version of the Galaxsi API.
- Created a “stage” like page that shows up questions asked by my community members. You can see it in action in my Q&A Video.
That’s all for the Galaxsi Bot UI, now for the bot itself.
Galaxsi Bot
The following changes were made to Galaxsi Bot
- The changes I said that would take place on April 1st 2022 are now in affect, which include:
- Ojama & Giant Germ cards cannot be spawned high rarity
- Moderators can now spawn a deck with a ghost rare
- Made some adjustments to the Galaxsi Bot API so that commands could be added easily.
- There was an issue with the Bot not posting final scores to Discord, this happened because it could not find Galaxsi Bot General.
- There were a few issues preventing the bot from announcing to discord and those have now been fixed up.
- Updated the schedule function to post correctly and use the correct naming on the API and not something mis-spelt.
That’s all, again, sorry there isn’t much to go off, but I also would like to mention that I have been working on the new game for Galaxsi Bot as well and that is well almost truly finished its planning stage and I look forward to starting development on it shortly!
Matgalaxsi
There are a few projects I am currently working on in relation to the channel. I am still working on trying to get a process for creating video and trying to get much better at that. I am planning a big stream push in June for a good cause and I cannot wait to share all of that in the next development update next month!
I am also working on some other video series ideas and some ideas for some other content outside of Twitch & Youtube.
Card Game
I actually spent a little time on this project, I am wanting to create a tool to assist me in designing this game and I plan to get that going again soon! However, with everything going on in other spots, this will be taking a backseat until most likely July. But I am building towards getting started on this project so expect some updates soon after!
We are now on Gamejolt!
Finally, speaking about game design, I have created our studio’s page on Gamejolt which is where I plan to eventually release games that I have made (whether it be in game jams or other games I work on), you will find these here for the time being!
That’s all folks! Again, sorry for the update being on the shorter side, I am to have a much bigger development update for you next month. Until then, I hope you have a good day/evening/night wherever you may be, and hope you are well! Looking forward to the next update!
See you soon!
Matt
