Introduction: A Year in Review at Galaxsi Studios
Welcome to our year-end review at Galaxsi Studios! As we close out 2023, it’s the perfect time to pause and look back at the journey we’ve embarked on over the past twelve months. This year has been a remarkable period of growth, learning, and accomplishment, both personally and for our channels. We navigated challenges, celebrated successes, and thanks to our supportive community, reached new heights in our creative endeavors. In this post, we’ll walk through the key milestones that have defined our year at Galaxsi Studios.
Personal Achievements and Professional Breakthroughs
As we bid farewell to 2023, it’s time to reflect on the significant strides we’ve made both personally and professionally here at Galaxsi Studios. It’s been a year of transformation, learning, and significant achievements.
- Driver’s License Acquired: A milestone in personal growth, I proudly earned my learner’s license this year, with plans to get the full license in 2024.
- Remarkable Health Transformation: Embarking on a fitness journey, I lost 30kg, going from 160kg to a healthier range of 120-130kg. Though I started this goal in 2022, I wanted to buckle down on it in 2023 and really get a consistent system going and sure enough, that is what I did. I feel a lot better and even starting to wear smaller clothes!
- Mastering Video Editing Skills: I honed my skills in Premiere Pro for efficient and productive video editing and began exploring the creative potential of After Effects. I’m excited to see how this will progress in 2024 and we’ve even started using some new skills in the videos at the start of 2024.
- Enhanced Productivity in Work and YouTube: Inspired by productivity expert Ali Abdeel, I’ve achieved a higher level of productivity in both my work and YouTube endeavors. This year, I started using my google calendar a lot more as well as creating a notion account that holds both my notes & details for both personal & Galaxsi Studios.
- Consistent Sleep Schedule: Prioritizing health, I established a more consistent sleep pattern, crucial for creativity and productivity. I actually had a really early bed time to get this started but I am thinking pushing this out later by 1 hour (from 9 to 10pm) and using that last hour as either a browsing time or relax before bed.
- Boost in Channel Quality: The quality of content on both YouTube channels saw significant improvement, reflecting our dedication to excellence. Initially I set out to improve the sound quality of the Youtube channels but I ended up improving not only the audio but the editing and recording process and learning about each of the aspects of recording. I learnt earlier this year that I should prioritise Youtube videos over streaming so I wanted to improve that aspect of our content on that end so the audience has content to look forward too.
- Website Upgrades: We revamped our website to accommodate more blog posts, enhancing our online presence and engagement. Something I really wanted to do for a long time. When galaxsistudios.com was initially setup, it was setup on a random VM by someone who I have absolutely no contact with now adays. There was no auto updating, lots of issues so I decided to dedicate some time moving providers to a much easier to manage place.
- Experiencing NRL Games: A personal highlight was attending my first NRL games, including a trial game, an official match, and a finals game. If I had to choose which one was the best, it was definitely the 1st Battle of Brisbane where the Dolphins took on the Broncos in both of their home! One of the closest games I’ve seen in the last few years. The atmosphere was amazing and being able to talk to people about something amazing is definitely beneficial!
- Deep Dive into AI: 2023 was also a year of exploring and learning about the fascinating world of AI and its application and I’ve only scrapped the surface. I’ve learnt about the benefits of using AI as a tool to enhance what we are already doing. I’ve been using AI since middle of the year for different aspects of my life and even some in content creation (Don’t worry, we are not using anything artificial within the videos itself, just more ensuring I am crafting good descriptions and making our processes much more efficient).
Community Contributions and Channel Growth
The growth and success of Galaxsi Studios wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our amazing community. Let’s celebrate the milestones achieved together:
- Gaming Channel Evolution: Although our gaming channel grew modestly by 172 subscribers, the shift in focus to the footy channel was a strategic move, leading to creative consolidation and future growth potential.
- Footy Channel Triumph: Our footy channel witnessed a remarkable growth of over 600 subscribers, forming a vibrant community that rejoices in returning for new content. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and support of our followers. A special thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the footy channel. The joy brought by our growing community is immeasurable, and we eagerly anticipate what 2024 has in store for us.
