Hey everyone & welcome to my final post of 2021 (or my first post on the Galaxsi Studios website). I am using my own website to post news in relation to Matgalaxsi as I feel like this can be used as a central point for all social media instead of using a Tweet Long. This post will cover my thoughts of 2021 and what I overall thought about it as well as highlight the main events of 2021. I am going to be writing 2022 goals shortly, so people know exactly what my goals are for the next year.

We came into 2021 being very cautious, because of the global pandemic going on, we really didn’t know what to expect! We were hoping for an improvement over 2020 and do I say we got that improvement? My answer to that is… I really don’t know. Yeah, its no mystery that 2021 was almost the same as 2020 but there are arguments, I could make that 2020 was worse while I can make arguments that 2021 was worse but the same goes for the opposite, there are reason I can say for me that 2020 was a good year but also 2021 was a good year. So, let’s just put it at: “Yeah, they both happened.”

Change

In terms of both personally & professionally, there were a lot of changes that were outside of my control this year including a lot of people that I am not in contact as much with any more than I was earlier in the year. One of the tough challenges I have had to face this year was letting go of people who were moving on with their own lives and accepting that not everyone is going to be here forever. I won’t lie… that one was a tough one. Yeah, I am used to seeing people come and go but this year, it was people I was close with. Though I still do talk with them now & again (which sometimes I wish that I could do more), it does hurt to see that people are not here as often as they used too. But we got to remember that we are all protagonists of our own stories and though our paths may split or even get to the end of the line, we still have those memories with the others and in most circumstances, we can reach our and communicate. Our trains continue to chug along, and we have to do our best to maintain it and even grow as people as maybe someday, we will meet those people again and then we can show them how much we have grown as human beings.

As well, there was a lot more change that happened this year over other years. I think I got a bit more depended on at work which in turn has led me to being busier than normal, I learned a lot about what I actually want to aim for in the future, how I can deal with change that is out of my control much better than I used to, what kind of person that I want to be. Not only that and a bit more of a personal thing but I think I have learned to enjoy my relax time (days off from work or weekends off from streaming) a lot more than I used too as now I do use them as time to either go and hang out with friends or just have a me-weekend :)). I will go into more detail about my goals & plans for 2022 in another post.

500 Followers on Twitch

One of the milestones that we were able to hit was 500 followers on Twitch which is one of the biggest milestones that a small channel can achieve and I have nothing but appreciation for everyone who had joined the Galaxsi Crew this year. I am so excited to keep growing the channel next year and meet even more new people. In addition, I think we’ve had some well-known additions (and returns) to the community who have brought colour and kindness to this community and that I am also thankful for. In addition, though more of a small goal of mine, I now feel like I have a small group of people who now watch me who are constantly returning to streams to come and chill out with us and honestly, that really warms my heart. I do feel like I established this more last year in 2020 but I felt like it has even more ground and more establishment in 2021. Thank you for helping me reach this milestone and I look forward to continuing to grow this community.

Charity Stream

One really proud thing that I finally did this year was a dedicated weekend to raising money for Beyond Blue. In total, we were able to raise $735.00 but also raise awareness of mental health. The topic of mental health does mean a great deal to me as I have experienced mental downs and they have brought me to a point where I was just plain depressed. Not only that but I do also see other people either not taking care of their mental wellbeing or suffering some form of mental illness. I am a firm believer that your mental health is more important than your physical health (they are linked too so if you do better mentally or physically, the other should improve). This is why I chose Beyond Blue as my charity of choice as their intention is to not only assist people with their mental issues but also raise awareness and remove the stigma of mental health from our society, so it is more accepting across the board.

The donation page is still open if you do want to donate: https://fundraise.beyondblue.org.au/matgalaxsi

In addition, if you guys are either suffering from a mental health condition or want to support someone who may have one, I encourage you to look on the Beyond Blue website for resources:

The Community’s Support

There is one last thing I want to highlight and what I honestly think is the most important out of everything above… The sheer support and love this community give to not only just me but others. My goal for the community is to build a safe haven for people to come to and escape the horrors and sadness that life can sometimes give, and I am proud to say that we have done that in some capacity, and we are continuing to build on that further as time goes on. I dare even say, we have become a sort of family of friends from around the world. Because of this, I am very confident that we are continuing to grow as we move forward into the new year. I am confident that next year, we will be bigger and have more people within our community as well as more regulars. I love coming back to this community and while I can support it financially, I will continue to stream and continue to grow the Galaxsi Crew.

Thank you so much for all your support this year, I couldn’t have honestly done it without all of you. Though 2021 we are ending on a more positive note than 2020, let’s hope that 2022 brings us more good times instead of bad times.

Thanks for reading,
Matgalaxsi ????
